Issue #35 - Do I Need a Dedicated School Room?
From Laura's Desk
I took a bit of an informal poll on my
Catholic Homeschooling Resources Facebook Page
about whether or not people had a dedicated school room in which to homeschool. I've done both - had a room set aside just for school vs schooling on the nearest table. Like everything in life, there are pros and cons to both.
I like having a dedicated room because then the books and papers and projects can stay there and the door can be shut.
However, when we've had that space, it was sometimes hard to keep track of the other little kids and I'd have to leave the room to figure out where they were at.
One homeschooling mom sent me some pictures of her school "building". It is amazing and it's right in her backyard. If you scroll through the Facebook page you'll see her photos in the comments.
I'll leave you with a page from my website which give you information about what I've done as well as some of my pointers for what you need to homeschool. (hint: it's not a room!)
As always, share your with me whether or not you've had a
dedicated room and what you thought of it!
Here is my take on the need for a homeschool classroom.
Thanks for reading, and feel free to share this newsletter with other homeschoolers! The more the merrier :)
