A Little Bit
About Me...

Hi! My name is Laura Dominick and I am a catholic wife and mother of seven (five girls and two boys). We have been homeschooling our children from the very beginning, which makes it about 13 years now. We live in Illinois, which is a very easy state to home school in (and we pray that it always stays that way).

Originally I thought anyone who would home school had to have at least a few screws loose. God is good, however, and made me see that this was definitely the right choice for our family.

I always have to laugh when I think back to the early years when people would ask me if I was going to homeschool through high school. "Can't I get through kindergarten?", I would think.

Now that high school is here, I can't imagine not home schooling them. We are very fortunate that we have a good home schooling support group and our children have a lot of homeschooling friends. They are involved in many activities and clubs, all of which makes it that much easier to continue on our homeschooling journey.

We've also just graduated our first homeschool high school student. She was a great student, did super on her ACT and got a nice scholarship to a great college. I know that they probably won't all be like that, but I have to say it made me feel good to know that she has done so well. Just a little encouragement for those who might be doubting their abilities to homeschool through high school!

As you read through the pages of my website, you will get a pretty good idea about me: Who I am, what I believe in, what I think education is and how I go about implementing it.

I believe fully and unquestionably in following the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. To the best of my ability, you will not find anything on this website that goes against the Catholic Faith.

I hope you enjoy this website. May God Bless you abundantly as you venture forth on your homeschooling adventure.

By the way, I also have a blog called "Homeschooling with Joy". I try to keep my "conversations" to things that have to do with the faith, about growing in holiness and about homeschooling. Sometimes, however, I do digress.

Give it a read and see what you think.
