How To Homeschool
From Birth through Kindergarten

how to homeschool

How to homeschool your children from birth through kindergarten is a subject that will come up a lot if you have a young family and are considering homeschooling.

  • Is it possible to homeschool with a baby and/or toddler?
  • Should I send my pre-schooler to a pre-school or keep him home with me?
  • If I keep him home, what should I do with him?
  • What about my kindergartner?  Do I need to sign her up with a provider?  Do I need to buy a ton of books?

These are all very good questions and ones that deserve some answers based on experience!  I'm out of this phase now, but I went through it seven times and have learned a lot.  I also have a lot of homeschooling friends who have gone through it and have shared their triumphs and tears with me during that phase of life.

Probably the most important thing you need to remember is to

BE FLEXIBLE!

So many things will be out of your control on some days that you cannot beat yourself up over the fact that you did not get everything done.  Being a family and taking care of the sickness or issues that pop up with little ones is also part of the learning experience.  This won't be the last time you hear this, but, "This phase will not last forever"!  Don't believe me?  Find someone with older kids and ask them.  I guarantee you they will answer the same way.

On the following pages, I've put together some tried and true ideas to help you to learn ways to homeschool:

I hope you enjoy reading them and if you ever have any ideas you'd like to share with me, I'm always happy to learn new things and share them with others.  Just contact me and let me know.
