Issue #43 - Let's Catch Up, Shall We?
Wow! What have you guys been up to these past few weeks? Ok, I guess it has been about a month, hasn't it, since I've popped by with an update. Let's see...
We started off August by going on a 10 day vacation to the East Coast. We went to meet my daughter's fiance's family. We had a great time, saw some beautiful country and went on some fun excursions. Did I mention we drove? A LOT? We haven't had a van for a few years now so that meant doing the whole trip in two cars. Let me tell you the stress that that adds to a trip; especially from a mother's perspective, when you're worrying about all your little chicks driving around in another vehicle that you have no control over.
Anyhow, we had a great, but exhausting, time.
We came back and had a week before daughter #3 drove back to the East Coast to go to school. It doesn't get easier to see them go, does it? A lot of moms in the Catholic homeschooling Facebook group I'm
in were lamenting the departure of their college kids.
A week later we started school ourselves. This year I signed my youngest two up for a co-op since they'd never taken part in one before. There are a few different ways to set up a co-op and this is a new type for us. I've decided to get back into blogging again, so I added a post about co-ops over at my
A Plan for Joy Blog.
I hope you'll join me over there often!
Check Out Some Great Talent!
I also saw this week that the vary talented Shaylynn Rackers, who did the illustrations and layout for my book,
"A Plan for Joy in the Home",
just illustrated another book called
"The All Saints' Day Party"
It looks like an adorable book about two kids who are going to an All Saints' Day party and how they go about deciding which Saint to go to the party as. I hope you'll check this book out and help support a young and very talented artist!
Stay tuned to my
CHR Facebook page
this week. It's my birthday and the Blessed Mother's birthday next week and I'll be doing a give-away in honor of those two events. Keep checking back so you can join in the fun!
Thanks for reading. Oh, and please pass this on to other homeschoolers you know who might benefit from this newsletter. If they sign up, they'll get a free download of "10 Secrets to a More Joyful Homeschool"; and who couldn't use that??
Have a great weekend!
