Issue #45 - What Kind of Learner are YOU?
I've been thinking a lot about that lately because I have a 12 year old who is still having some struggles with reading. We've had him to two eye doctors to evaluate him for vision therapy and they have some differing opinions on what the problem might be.
As I explained to this second doctor, he is a very good auditory learner. If he hears it, he remembers it. He has a somewhat photographic memory, which has definitely helped him get as far as he has.
Myself? I definitely cannot follow things too well if I just hear them. My best bet is to be able to read something and, if it is complicated, to hear it, too. Just don't make me do something until I know what to do or it won't be pretty!
A friend of mine asked me if I could help her get organized. She bought my book a long time ago but can't seem to get herself to work through it. She said she needs someone to push her along. I totally get that. I would have to guess that there a lot of
copies of "A Plan for Joy" sitting on desks with the best of intentions behind it.
I told her that I was planning on putting a video workshop together and putting it up on my website for people to access once they buy the book. She told me she didn't want to wait for me to get that done, so this weekend I'm heading to her house to hold the workshop and record it for everyone else at the same time.
I really think that having access to someone leading you through the steps of how to organize your day will definitely help a lot of people out. Hopefully it won't take me too long to edit it all and get it up on the site.
As always, you guys will be the first to know when it is done, so if you've been struggling to get organized, maybe this will help!
If you need a copy , you can get one here!
Be sure to check in over at my Facebook page. I'm always posting new things. One thing that was put on my heart the other day was for all of us to pray more, so I'm going to post (at random intervals because I hate committing to a time frame :)) prayer requests for different situations that us moms might find ourselves in. Here's one I posted this week:

Thanks for reading. I hope your September went well and that you're looking forward to the great month of October when the weather starts to change and there are a lot of great Saints to celebrate.
Please pass this on to other homeschoolers you know who might benefit from this newsletter. If they sign up, they'll get a free download of "10 Secrets to a More Joyful Homeschool"; and who couldn't use that??
Have a great weekend!
